Design Diary February

Morning all!

As is usual in the Spring with being a teacher, progress is grinding to a halt for a while as life ramps up for the exam season and the inevitable visit from Ofsted (schools inspectors).

We’ve just had the visit from Ofsted this weekend, so hopefully that all went well – looks like it.

I’m also on a course for children and adolescents mental health, which will run until early April and allow me to better understand and help students in our schools. I’m also hoping I’ll be able to make better materials that they can use, like the mood journals we made previously. These came out about 9 months ago and I really want to improve and update them to make them better, and if possible, cheaper.

Regarding our gamebook, chapter one is out and were making headway into chapter 2 – you can follow our progress here and check out chapter 1 here! The books looking to be about 5 chapters total, running 600 to 700 pages. Chapter 2 is almost into the editing phase too which is great!

I’ve also started having a look back at some of our earlier games – such as Tranquility Station. If you’ve ever played Space Station 13 (SS13), think that but as a board game. I want to rework it a bit and see if we can make it a think.

Other than that, enjoy the lousy smarch weather!

Design diary January

Hi all!

Christmas is long gone and the winter is settling in here in the UK. We’re making headway into our choose your own adventure/fighting fantasy book with the first chapter being finalised and edited.

You can check out an early version on the Patreon now, and subscribers will get an early view at the completed first chapter when it’s released.

We’re aiming for around 400 pages in total.

Speaking of early releases, we’ve moved to an early access Patreon model so subscribers will be able to access games, books and other things either a week or month sooner than public release.

In the last month we’ve put up new versions of Village Life (0.7) and Pilgrims Walk (early alpha), so if you have time – check them out when they pop out from early access.

Finally were undergoing a little brand change at some point, so keep your eyes peeled!

Have a good month and see you all next time!

New places, new resources…

Busy an aside to let you know before the weekly update of a few changes.

1. we’ve finalised and released Emotions to our Patreon subscribers.

2. We’ve changed the Patreon to monthly early access to reflect more our business model.

3. Weve also opened a new store on TES (Times Educational Supliment) to reflect some of the other games and materials that we have been working on, especially during Summer break. You can check it out below!

Thanks all!

Sunday Progress Update: 23rd July 2017

Hi all! Here’s our roundup of this week’s progress, playtesting results, an overview of what’s available and what’s coming soon. Stay tuned!

What have we been working on and playtesting this week?

New Educational games: GCSE Keywords Dominoes

Currently created GCSE RS Dominoes for next year. If they work well and are popular I will expand out to other subjects. These are currently available here.

I have also set up a TES account to sell the educational resources. Any profit from this will go to creating further resources and providing them to schools.

Patreon Changes

Looking to make Patreon more like a monthy early access – see below for changes and let me know what you think

Future? Patrons pledge a certain amount each month and recieve early access to the latest versions of games and print-and-plays a month early. The rest as above except its monthly instead of only when a game is finished.
